Our Time To Shine

St. Benedict's Corey Stokes
Waiting your turn is a phrase many young players hate to hear. But these
young men looked past it and now they are ready to take over reigns for their
respective teams this upcoming season.
Corey Stokes (St. Benedicts) – The sophomore
guard sat watched J. R Smith and Alex Galindo shine last year, now he is ready
to kick in the door and become Benedicts next premier wing player. Corey
unleashed his fiery this summer touring the country with the Playaz, where he
was destroying 16 and under competition. What makes matters worst for opponents
is that they have to deal with him for three more seasons.

Dasean Butler (Bloomfield Tech) – Dasean
has had Derek Jeter type success, winning state titles his freshmen and
sophomore seasons. Now the high scoring guard trio has left the Spartans, Butler
should be ready to take over the load. Watch for the smooth forward to increase
his scoring average between 8 and 10 points this season.

Miles Beatty (St. Anthony) - Playing
behind experienced guards is the only reason Beatty saw limited action last
season. Miles provides much energy and his to good of an offensive weapon to
have a repeat performance. Look for Beatty to have a break out year and become
another one of Hurley’s great guards.

Kenneth Watson (Hillside) – Watson showed excellent strides playing for Team KA this summer. He should have the keys to the Hillside offense this season. Kenny has a great first step and loves to create separation for defenders. Watson will use his speed and quick release to cause havoc in Union County.
